About Your Practitioner
First recognized his passion for health, fitness, and performance early on when he began in martial arts at the age of 15 and saw his mother pass away from breast cancer when he was 16. Over the years he trained in Karate, Amateur Boxing, Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and dabbled in traditional Ving Tsung and Philippines Combatives. After college Matthew continued martial arts training, health studies and has led a successful career in business/technology. In 2017 he chose to bring his passion to life by starting VSB Integrated Performance. The purpose was to identify root cause health imbalance associated to chronic illness while screening mobility, stability, and movement patterns. In 2024, Matthew realized the need to remove service ambiguity by rebranding to VSB Functional Health. This rebrand helps new clients understand VSB’s competency focused on whole person health. The overall goal of VSB is to couple natural health, nutrition and wellness methods with lifestyle changes in order to help clients resolve the root cause of health issues. Matthew is currently continuing his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training and functional medicine studies to deepen expertise in genetic testing/nutrigenomics, hormonal health and childhood epidemics of Autism, ADHD, Asthma and Allergies. ?
